Welcome to the English section of my blog! For those that know me well, I have always been very passionate about learning new languages, and as such I am proud to be able to offer translations of my blog in French, German and Spanish. I am currently learning Italian, so I hope one day to be able to put this into practice on this site!
Apart from being a very fascinating and rewarding process, learning new languages can come in very handy whilst travelling: admittedly English is the most useful language when it comes to countries in Eastern Europe and Asia, but Spanish is essential for visiting Spain and Latin America, and French will be of use in large swathes of Africa. German is in fact the language with the most native speakers in Europe, and hence has fared me well during my trips to Austria, Germany & Switzerland.
I intend to use this blog in order to share my past, present and current travel experiences. However, I will also try and include sections related to language learning, as I feel that it is an integral part of travelling and may be helpful for those readers.

My Journey
For me, travelling is more than just visiting a new country, or swapping the dreary English winters for the Caribbean sun; it's a way of life! As cliché as this may sound, travelling has been a key part of my own self-development: interacting with people from other cultures is extremely eye-opening, and a lot of my solo voyages have taught me a lot as I have navigated through the inevitable highs and lows that travelling entails.
In many ways, this blog is almost an autobiography in terms of its content. My original reason for setting it up was to immortalise my trips and to provide a digital memory of all the unforgettable moments along the way for both friends and family; however, if I can pass on my knowledge and interact with other like-minded travellers through this medium, this would make me very happy indeed!
